The EU has designated PJSC Alrosa and its CEO, Pavel Alekseevich Marinychev, Russia’s largest diamond producer, accounting for over 90% of Russian production (regulation, decision).
This follows the ban on the import of non-industrial natural and synthetic diamonds originating or exported from Russia which came into force on 1 January 2024.
