EU sanctions 33 people over Navalny death

BRUSSELS, March 22 (Reuters) – The European Union Council on Friday decided to impose sanctions on 33 individuals and two entities linked to the death of late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

The new listings include the penal colonies where Alexei Navalny was held as well as senior officials from Russia’s judicial system, the EU said in a statement.
