Yesterday, The Georgian Ministry of Finance announced that:
- on 1 August 2023, Georgia banned the export to Russia and Belarus of vehicles which have been imported from the US; and
- from 26 September 2023, the export of vehicles to Russia with engines larger than 1900cc and all electric and hybrid vehicles imported from the EU will be prohibited (in line with the EU’s 11th package, previous post).
The EU have also commended the measures taken by Georgia to prohibit the export to Russia of 38 specific electrical equipment items (press release).
