VK Co. Ltd. said Monday that Vladimir Kirienko has been appointed chief executive officer for Russia with immediate effect, replacing Boris Dobrodeev.

The London-listed social networking company said Mr. Kirienko has been first vice president of Rostelecom since 2017, and that he was previously chairman of the board at LLC Capital.

VK–which was known as Mail.ru Group until Oct. 12, 2021–said Mr. Dobrodeev announced earlier in the month that he was stepping down as CEO.
